When Arctic Cool reached out to us to launch their new campaign, we knew this project needed to be more than just another brand shoot. It had to embody “The Great Outdoors” spirit—where adventures are epic, the lighting is perfect, and the lake breeze is real.

The Challenge

Here’s the big question: how do we capture that “outdoorsy adventure vibe” in one day without making it feel staged? We wanted people to see the video and think, “Hey, I could be out there, doing that!” This wasn’t just about showing off a product; it was about capturing the feeling of getting outside and embracing everything nature has to offer. We needed a film that would make you want to grab a kayak, toss on a fishing line, or just enjoy a breezy lakeside bike ride—all in Arctic Cool gear, of course. 😉

Scope of the Project

Pre-production Planning

So, Arctic Cool shared their deck, and it was clear: this campaign was all about real moments and natural vibes. Their “Live” category—their most lifestyle-focused line—needed that perfect balance of relaxation and activity. Our job? To capture real emotions, candid expressions, and natural interactions by the lake.

Location was key. We scoped out spots that could cover all our bases for a one-day shoot and landed on Lake Mission Viejo. It had everything: kayaking waters, boardwalks for biking, and plenty of open space to spread out. After working with the lake team to get permits and arrange all the equipment, we were set.

Casting

Casting was all about keeping things real. We wanted two men and two women who could really live in these scenes—no over-the-top actors, just fit, outdoorsy folks who could seamlessly jump into kayaking or a lakeside yoga pose. We hit up our contacts and some agencies to find people who could not only do the activities but look genuine doing them. From early-morning fishing to cycling and yoga, our cast was prepped to tackle it all.

With the location, cast, and wardrobe in line (yep, we had every piece steamed and ready), it was time to make the magic happen.

Production

The day kicked off bright and early, with our team ready to capture the perfect shots by the lake. With our cast rolling through fishing, kayaking, biking, and even a little yoga, we moved through the day fast to get each moment right. The vibe? Super relaxed. And thanks to some serious pre-planning, each setup went smoothly. Our shot list kept us on track, and we even had some quick wardrobe swaps to keep the variety rolling.

Post-Production

Back in the editing room, we brought out that lake-day vibe with soft colors and natural lighting. Each photo was color-corrected to make the scenery pop while keeping that real, airy feel.
